Hi,

Do you remember when you were in school and you just could NOT
wait to get out for the summer?  What do YOU think of when you think of
kids leaving school for summer vacation?  All of the TV programs, show
kids tearing out of school, hollering and laughing!  
Pure joy!  

As we get older, it feels to me like it
gets more difficult to find those
truly joyful occasions…is that true for you, too?  This month’s article
may
give you some new ideas about how easy it is to add joy to your
every-day life!

Feature Article: 10 Easy Ways to Add Joy to Your Life!

Sometimes your joy is the source of your smile,
but sometimes your smile can be the source of your joy.
                                           - Thich Nhat Hanh

JOY…for such a small word, it’s so powerful.  According to
Merriam-Webster, joy means:
"the emotion evoked by well-being, success or good fortune or
by the prospect of possession of what one desires
the expression or exhibition of such emotion
a state of happiness or felicity
a source or cause of delight"

Say the word ‘joy’ quietly to yourself a couple of times…what happens?  What does it feel like, just to think about joy?  Personally, it makes me
smile!  How about you?

Even though it’s a powerful word, adding more joy to our lives doesn’t
have to be hard or complicated.  Actually, it can be quite simple…  Here
are
10 easy ways to add joy into your life:

1.  Smile at someone as you pass him/her on the street.

2.  Pet a cat or dog.

3.  Watch a sunset.

4.  Do something you used to love to do as a child.

5.  Laugh.

6.  Look at old family photos showing celebrations of long ago.

7.  Tell a colleague they did a great job and really mean it.

8.  Eat your favorite dessert (without any guilt).

9.  Bring someone you love flowers.

10. Tell a friend how much he/she means to you.

What else can you do today to add some joy into your life…or into the
life of someone else?  What would the reward be?  Is it possible that if
you add more joy to your life, it might be contagious?  Just think how
wonderful it would be to see and feel the happiness that would
permeate the world if everyone added just a little bit more joy into
his/her life today!  Wow!  That would be something, wouldn’t it?  Why
not get started right now…and do your part to add joy into the world!

As you can see,
adding joy doesn’t have to be "a big deal", yet the
results can be huge
!  I’d like to ask you to create your own list of 10
ways you can add joy into your life.  Then over the next month, see if you
can add all 10 of them into your life.  Notice what changes.  Do you feel
different?  Are people reacting to you differently?  Are you happier?  Do
you walk with a spring in your step?  We would love to hear what
